Collections: Parachute Collection: Parachute-Art

Playing with whole parachutes in the wind of a plane propeller, Maasailand, Kenya.

The parachute was first invented in 1783 by Sébastien Lenormand. The word "parachute" comes from the two French words: "para", meaning "against", and "chute" meaning "fall". Therefore "parachute" means "against the fall".
